- Admission Policy: The university determines the number of students admitted annually to graduate programs based on recommendations from departmental and college councils.
- Eligibility Criteria for Master's Degree Admission:
- The applicant must hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- The undergraduate degree must be in a field that qualifies the applicant for the specialized study they are applying for.
- The applicant must submit two letters of recommendation from academic professors.
Academic Requirements:
To be admitted to a master's program, the applicant must have earned at least a “Good" grade in their undergraduate studies, with a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 out of 4.0. Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be granted conditional admission in accordance with the instructions of the University Graduate Studies Council and the decisions of the Ministry of Higher Education. The Graduate Studies Council may, based on the recommendation of the relevant department council, impose additional requirements deemed necessary for admission.
Departmental Requirements:
The applicant must meet all admission requirements set by the relevant academic department.
Interdisciplinary Admission:
Students may be admitted to a master's program outside their undergraduate major, subject to the recommendation of both the department and college councils and the approval of the Graduate Studies Council.
Bridging Courses:
The department may require the student to complete a set of remedial courses as a condition of admission, which must be completed within a maximum of two academic semesters.
Final Admission Decision:
Admission is granted by a decision of the Graduate Studies Council, based on a recommendation from the department's Graduate Studies Committee. The Dean will inform the student, department, college, and the Admission and Registration Department to complete the admission procedures.
Program Enrollment Restriction:
A student may not be enrolled in more than one graduate program at the university simultaneously.
Study Deferrals and Status Changes:
The Graduate Studies Council regulates matters related to deferral, withdrawal, interruption, transfer, cancellation of enrollment, and reinstatement. Such actions must be based on a decision by the department council, endorsed by the relevant college council, and approved by the Graduate Studies Council.
