Praise be to God who blessed His servants by setting rules and guidelines in order to protect them from Satan.
May peace and blessings be upon the Sunnah teacher, Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
 
Imam Al-Shafi’i says: “Whoever memorizes the Qur’an, his sanctity is magnified, whoever seeks jurisprudence, his status becomes noble, and whoever knows hadith, his argument is strengthened. He who looks into syntax becomes gentle. If he does not protect himself, knowledge will not protect him”.
 
It is the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies that has had all of this and more. Thus, it has a privileged state among the rest of the university’s faculties. It combines originality and modernity in a moderate approach. This is stemmed from the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. / Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi - may God protect and preserve him, when he affirmed that Al Qasimia University core is the Holy Quran and the Arabic language.
 
Seekers of knowledge from all over the world … Welcome! We meet today bearing in mind the words of the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - as he said: “People will come to you seeking knowledge. And if you see them, tell them “Welcome, welcome to following the words of the Messenger of God” and teach them.
 
So follow the guidance of your Prophet, for it is the best guidance, and follow his Sunnah, for it is the best of Sunnahs, and learn the Qur’an, for it is the best of words.
 
Our message lies between the importance of knowledge and its honour, and between obtaining it and its consequence. Therefore, science and faith are the best things acquired for elevation in this world and the Hereafter. The Almighty says that He raises those who have believed among you and those who have are knowledgeable. And Allah is all aware of what you do. (Al Mujadalah: 11)
